Minglik Sar (6050-M) Expedition
Minglik Sar Expedition 2026–27 — 20 Days
Minglik Sar Expedition (also spelled Manglik Sar or Mingling
Sar, 6,050m) is one of Pakistan's most rewarding high-altitude climbing
experiences — and widely regarded as the most accessible 6,000m peak in the
entire Karakoram Range. Located in the breathtaking Shimshal Valley of
Gilgit-Baltistan, Minglik Sar sits at the southernmost extension of the Pamir
Mountains, offering aspiring mountaineers a genuine Karakoram summit without
the extreme technical demands of Pakistan's 8,000m giants.
The peak was first climbed in 1988 by legendary Pakistani
mountaineer Nazir Sabir — a name revered across the global alpinism community.
Although classified as a non-technical snow peak, the Minglik Sar expedition
demands solid physical fitness and a basic command of mountaineering
techniques. Slopes on the ascent range between 30 and 35 degrees, making it an
ideal progression climb for trekkers stepping into serious high-altitude
mountaineering for the first time.
Summit day involves a demanding 1,500m ascent and 1,500m descent
from base camp — rewarded by one of the most spectacular panoramas in all of
Gilgit-Baltistan. From the top, climbers look out across K2 (8,611m), Broad
Peak (8,051m), Kanjut Sar (7,760m), the Mustagh Range, the Pamir Mountains and
the sweeping high-altitude landscapes of Baraldu Valley and the greater
Karakoram.
Baltistan Adventure's 20-day Minglik Sar expedition is the
ideal choice for adventure seekers from across the globe — particularly
trekkers from the UK, Europe, Australia and North America –Latin Amrica –Italy-
Switzerland –Austria — looking for a challenging yet achievable Karakoram
summit in one of Pakistan's most remote and beautiful mountain valleys.
